Shipping policy

Refrigerated Courier and Sydney same-day delivery are free on every order of $199.95 or more, otherwise a flat $39.95. Express Delivery, offered wherever our network reaches your suburb the next business day, costs $39.95, or is free on every order of $299.95 or more where Refrigerated Courier is not offered. Weekend Urgent Delivery in Sydney is a flat $149.95. Hand delivery by a co-founder is a flat $2,000. Every price is shown before payment.

Checkout shows only the options that can reach your address, each with its dispatch day and expected arrival day for an order placed right now. We do not deliver on public holidays at the delivery address, including state holidays such as Melbourne Cup Day in Victoria.

Refrigerated Courier (transit in refrigerated trucks). Order by Monday 3pm AEST and your order is dispatched the next day, Tuesday. Sydney metro, the Blue Mountains, the Central Coast, Newcastle and the Hunter, Wollongong, the Southern Highlands, Goulburn, Canberra, Batemans Bay, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo and the Central West are delivered between Wednesday and Friday of that week. Melbourne metro and Brisbane metro are delivered on the Friday by weekly refrigerated linehaul. Outer areas served from the Melbourne and Brisbane depots, such as Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton, the Mornington Peninsula, the Yarra Valley, Gippsland, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Lismore, Tweed Heads, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg, are delivered on their next scheduled run after that Friday, which can be the following week. Orders placed after the Monday cut-off are dispatched the following Tuesday. For example, an order made at 6pm on Thursday 12 November is dispatched on Tuesday 17 November, for delivery in Sydney between Wednesday 18 and Friday 20 November. Orders travel by road freight in refrigerated trucks, from our door to yours. Please provide accurate details when placing your order: your mobile number is used for SMS alerts about your scheduled delivery, so it must be a mobile number, not a landline, and your address must be correct for the driver to find you. We cannot edit or change the delivery address once your order has been dispatched. We cannot deliver to PO Boxes; please provide a street address only. Houses, units and apartments are all fine; please make sure there is a safe, shaded place to leave your order in case you are not available on the delivery day.

Sydney same-day by GoPeople. Delivered by 5pm the same day for orders placed before 12pm AEST, Monday to Friday, within our Sydney courier zone. Orders after 12pm are delivered on the next delivery day. On Saturdays and Sundays, orders placed before 12pm AEST may choose Urgent Delivery, delivered the same day by 5pm for a flat $149.95. It appears at checkout on the weekend only, beside the normal Monday same-day run, and after 12pm the order goes out on Monday.

Express Delivery (isothermal packaging with ice packs). Sent by StarTrack Premium Express through MailPlus for next business day delivery, only to suburbs our network reaches in one business day from our cold room, in any state. Checkout shows a one to three business day arrival window to allow for delays. Orders are dispatched Monday to Wednesday. Order before 10am AEST and your order leaves that day. Orders placed after Wednesday's cut-off are held in our cold room and dispatched the following Monday. Where Refrigerated Courier or same-day courier is available, checkout recommends those and Express Delivery is offered as the alternative.

Hand delivery by a co-founder. A flat $2,000, any day of the week. Within about 80 km of our Sydney cold room, one of our two co-founders drives your order to you and hands it over by 5pm the same day when the drive still fits, otherwise the next day. Further afield, your order flies on the next available Qantas flight: orders placed before 9am AEST are delivered the same day by 5pm, and later orders the next day by 5pm. This option is offered at checkout only when it can reach your address in time and no same-day courier is available for that day.

Same-day and Express Delivery orders are not refrigerated in transit: they leave our cold room in isothermal packaging with ice packs (a thermal-lined box with a wool liner and gel ice packs), built for an overnight transit, which is why Express is only sent to suburbs we can reach the next business day and never into a weekend. We deliver to street addresses only, never PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers. Apart from hand delivery, we do not dispatch or deliver on public holidays. Every order is tracked, with delivery updates by SMS, so please give a mobile number at checkout. Please refrigerate your tin as soon as it arrives.

Unattended deliveries. We are not responsible for any damage caused by an order being left unattended at the premises. If you are not available, please arrange for someone to collect it as soon as it is delivered. Caviar needs to be refrigerated.
