Shipping & Storage
Delivery
Delivery is free on every order of $499.95 or more. Below that it is priced by your delivery postcode and shown before payment: $34.95 in our Australia Post Express regions, $49.95 in our StarTrack Premium regions, and priced by suburb in the Sydney same-day zone. Every delivery includes insulated cold-chain packaging worth $10, and nothing else is added at checkout: no handling fee, no packaging fee, no cold-chain surcharge. The gel ice and the insulated liner are part of the price.
Sydney same-day
Across Sydney metro we deliver same day by 5pm with a refrigerated courier, Monday to Friday, for orders placed before 12pm Sydney time. Order after 12pm and your tins go out on the next delivery day.
Everywhere else in Australia
Outside Sydney we send overnight express, Australia Post Express or StarTrack Premium depending on your postcode, for orders placed before 11am Sydney time, Monday to Wednesday. Almost all of our network is next business day, with a small number of regional lanes at two. Orders after Wednesday's cut-off are held chilled in our cold room and dispatched Monday, because a tin that sits in a depot over a weekend is not a tin we are willing to send you. We deliver to street addresses only, never PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers, and only to postcodes our express network reaches within one to two business days. We do not dispatch or deliver on public holidays.
Tracking
Live tracking by email and SMS on every order. Every parcel leaves the KHAVIYAR caviar cold room at 24/10 Anderson St, Banksmeadow NSW 2019, packed with ice in an insulated box and kept between 0 and 4 degrees all the way to your door.
Storage
Keep the tin in the coldest part of your fridge, which is usually at the back of the bottom shelf, between 0 and 4 degrees. Never freeze it. Freezing ruptures the pearls and you get the flavour back as a paste.
An unopened tin keeps until the date on its base. Once you open it, eat it within three days, press the surface flat with the back of a spoon before you re-seal it, and keep it as cold as you can in between. Serve the tin on crushed ice and use a mother of pearl spoon, because metal dulls the flavour the moment it touches the roe.
